Pentax 645D Medium-Format Digital Camera On Track for 2010
The on-again, off-again, on-again Pentax 645D medium-format digital camera is still on and slated to ship by next year, according to an official from Pentax. "We've started development and the plan right now is to have it released by Spring 2010," said Ned Bunnell, president of Pentax Imaging (USA) at a press event this week. Bunnell was on hand at the International Center of Photography in New York City on Wednesday to launch the Pentax K-x, a consumer digital SLR that comes in an array of colors. After the K-x launch, Bunnell fielded questions, several of which had to do with the long-awaited Pentax 645D. "The goal is probably PMA," Bunnel told PDN Gear Guide. "Though I can't say that for certain. Right now, we're just saying Spring 2010." Specs for the camera are also pretty scarce at this point: Pentax will only say that the new model with have 30 megapixels of resolution. In March, Pentax also announced it would release a smc PENTAX-D FA645 55mm F2.8 to go with the new 645-format camera. "645 is our heritage," Bunnell explained. 'It's more comfortable for us. Love the Pentax 645AF actually, if this can be had for around 5K USD, then that's a BIG BIG market to capture...

that's a bargain for an AF medium format.... Especially if you can use the kick-ass FA MF lenses of the past.

They already designed it about 2-3 years ago but did not pursue production. Hindi yata sila satisfied sa capability then kasi iko-compare siya sa film version. Pasensya na kayo sa salitang ginamit ko. Naalala ko lang yung sinabi nung isang nakilala kong batang photographer. I don't shoot for fun or for flicker! Ang yabang ano po? Pero may karapatan naman siyang magyabang. 6 months pa lang siyang humahawak ng camera pero halos S$20K/month kung kumita. Mostly product shoots and duratrans ang binabanatan niya. Ang secret ng success niya ay mga connection sa industry. Hindi naman siya ganun kagaling, maganda lang talaga naging exposure niya kaya gumaling na rin.  -------------------- May makukunan tayo ng kahit anong pyesa ng Canon

Bawiin ko yung sinabi ko.
 I met this guy who shoots landscape using Hasselblad. Wala lang, hilig lang talaga niya. Hindi ginagamit sa negosyo. Hindi rin siya nagpopost. Nagmamaneho ng sitak at pinag iipunan ang mga gamit na binibile. Ang importante, happy daw siya.  -------------------- May makukunan tayo ng kahit anong pyesa ng Canon
